About The Position

Riverside Research Institute is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented temporary Purchasing Specialist to join our Procurement Team. This is a 3-month assignment. This individual will help manage the full procurement lifecycle for materials, components and services in support of the entire organization for both Direct and Indirect type orders.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a similar field preferred. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • DoD experience/ knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and ITAR.
  • Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds, and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and suppliers.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Highly organized in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to critically and analytically think.
  • Capable of problem solving and finding continuous ways to be efficient.
  • Be a team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge with ERP systems, preferably Deltek Costpoint Version 8.0 or higher.
  • Proficiency using MS O365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro business software.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee cradle-to-grave procurement processes in full compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and company policies.
  • Partner with internal teams to align procurement efforts with project goals.
  • Evaluating products and suppliers according to key business criteria.
  • Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, and negotiating purchasing terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to purchase order terms and resolving invoice issues.
  • Support proposal and pricing activities by obtaining supplier quotes and contributing to cost analysis.
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready procurement documentation, including CPSR reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.
