About The Position

This is a hybrid role in Perrysburg, Ohio. This position will assist in executing sourcing strategies against approximately $100M in MRO spend; which will consist of both leading and supporting various sourcing projects. This position supports 22 locations in North America and will also participate in global sourcing initiatives. It involves preparing monthly reports of KPI's including EBIT savings, working capital, inflation, and spend information. It will provide prompt resolution of commodity issues (material shortages, quality complaints, etc) raised with suppliers and internal customers utilizing organizational savvy and problem solving skills. Also managing supply base for assigned commodities; building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and reviewing contract issues identified by suppliers, while understanding the business impact and negotiate most favorable conditions for O-I.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related-area. (Procurement/Supply Chain preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years procurement experience (exposure to negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing process).
  • Negotiation experience required.
  • Proficient analytical and computer skills (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Working experience with SAP or other ERP system strongly preferred.
  • Experience with MRO or Chemical Gas Industry preferred.
  • Experience and Knowledge of the Sourcing process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing activities for assigned spend categories, leveraging industry best practices, commodity experience, sourcing methodology and global partnerships whenever possible, under the supervision of the Procurement Manager.
  • Proactively aligns stakeholders and necessary support internally for successful project implementation.
  • Develops RFI / RFP / RFQ for new and existing products.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts in compliance with legal standards and business requirements.
  • Review vendor performance to ensure contract adherence and drive continuous improvements.
  • Implement sourcing projects across multiple plants for standardization, preferred supplier utilization, cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Analyze and report preferred vendor utilization, savings project completion, supplier savings validations, inventory history, utilization/consumption, etc.
  • Participate in and / or lead special projects as required.
