About The Position

The Procurement Sourcing & Buying Specialist at Pen Air Credit Union is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the credit union by managing clerical and technical tasks related to procuring services, materials, and supplies. This role involves building professional relationships with vendors, negotiating pricing, and maintaining accurate records to ensure efficient purchasing processes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A two-year college degree, completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Research vendors for best product, cost, and payment terms.
  • Communicate prices, availability, and alternatives to internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate onboarding of new vendors.
  • Conduct timely and cost-effective purchasing of office supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Manage order processing, tracking, and expedite urgent orders as needed.
  • Process returns and credits when applicable.
  • Maintain purchases within established budget guidelines and propose creative ways to reduce costs while maintaining quality.
  • Assist with managing and organizing the credit union's fixed asset inventory, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Review requisition requests and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness prior to processing for manager approval.
  • Complete annual Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training.
