About The Position

The Procurement/Purchasing position at Industrial Kiln & Dryer Group is a full-time role based in Louisville, KY, where the successful candidate will play a crucial part in the procurement and purchasing processes of the company. This role is integral to ensuring that the company can deliver robust solutions to its clients by managing the procurement of materials and supplies necessary for various projects. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, energetic, and process-oriented, with a strong ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on both the big picture and the details. The company values creativity and out-of-the-box thinking, and the successful candidate will be expected to bring tenacity, accountability, and a passion for their work to the role. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for creating and providing accurate estimates for specific scopes of work, scheduling projects logically, and assisting with monthly billing. They will also complete the buy-out process and purchase materials for projects, requiring proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, as the candidate will participate in job scope meetings and must communicate difficult or sensitive information tactfully. The role also involves locating suppliers, negotiating pricing, processing requisitions and purchase orders, and managing inventory. The candidate will need to work through scheduling issues and quality deficiencies while keeping the end-user customer in mind, ensuring that solutions meet customer requirements. Constant updates and communication on status are vital, as is the ability to manage parts and shipping, including maintaining tracking spreadsheets and creating shipping paperwork. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing parts jobs for invoicing, ensuring that all necessary documentation is uploaded to the digital folder system (Trello). Overall, this position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
