About The Position

The Institute of Arctic Biology (IAB) is seeking a full-time Procurement and Property Officer to join our Business Office. IAB serves over 150 faculty and staff supporting research throughout Alaska. As the Procurement and Property Officer, you will be responsible for procurement support and property management. This position plays a vital role in administrative support, requiring attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask. You'll be relied upon daily to procure goods and services via credit cards and purchase orders, process invoices for payment, ship and receive orders, interpret regulations, and manage tagged property. You'll also be relied upon to communicate with vendors, review service contracts, check out equipment, and assist with the annual inventory. IAB supports a flexible work environment and provides professional development and career growth through UA coursework, attendance at national conferences, and participation in virtual workshops.

Requirements

  • An Associate's degree in a relevant field and three years of public procurement, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Must possess current UA Procurement Technician (PT) delegation or the ability to obtain UA PT authority through on-the-job training.
