Primary Responsibilities: Serve as Global Process Owner for the Source-to-Contract (S2C) process coordinating internal stakeholders to implement procurement standard operating procedures and drive standardization to achieve Messer’s procurement goals. Manage and maintain strategic procurement processes and standards including documentation, vendor reporting, contracting, and operational efficiency metrics. Establish and implement key performance metrics for strategic sourcing to ensure alignment with Messer’s procurement strategies. Utilize enterprise resource planning systems to prepare reports on procurement metrics. Train Messer’s stakeholders in procurement standard operating procedures. Ensure adherence to Messer policies and procedures. Provide support to Strategic Sourcing team and key stakeholders to complete essential risk management deliverables such as performance monitoring, business reviews. Ensure that sourcing projects are completed in compliance with policy, quality, and safety standards. Develop standards for supplier negotiations including strategy, desired outcomes, and total cost of ownership. Lead contract management process through period review, alignment of processes and data reporting. Govern supplier compliance and supplier diversity engagement. Direct supervision for positions aligned and in support of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, mathematics, computer science, business informatics, or a related field and five years of related experience within strategic procurement and category management. Alternatively, seven years of related experience within strategic procurement and category management.
  • Experience in Process Excellence or Lean principles and concepts.
  • Experience with spend analytics and sourcing systems.
  • Experience with Contract Management Lifecycle including authoring, negotiating, reviewing, approving, executing, and renewing contracts.
  • Experience with spend analysis by commodity and analysis of external supplier market for specific commodity.
  • Experience with supplier management including supplier segmentation, performance assessments and optimization, vendor selection, and risk management.
  • Experience with integrated supply chain.
  • Experience with SAP including advanced knowledge of SAP MM.
  • Functional knowledge of end-to-end Procurement process including Sourcing, Category Management, Purchase Requisitions, and Purchase Orders.
