About The Position

Position Purpose: The Sr. Manager, Site Procurement is responsible for ensuring reliable supply of materials to support the operations of the Kankakee production site. The role is a key member of the Site Supply Chain leadership team, works in close collaboration with local and global leaders to create successful material supply plans, and is a key voice ensuring success in the material planning business processes. This leader is responsible for managing and developing a team of buyers and partnering with colleagues locally and globally to drive CSL initiatives. R ole that this position reports to: Sr. Director, Site Head Supply Chain Role/s that report to this position: Senior Buyer and Buyer Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 1. Provide leadership and development to the site procurement operations team which will be accountable for the management of operational purchasing; processing of requisitions, purchase orders, stock management, expediting, forecasting, non-conformance of materials, and other tasks required to ensure un-interrupted operation of the plant. 2. Develop and maintain inventory planning assumptions including safety stocks, lead times, order quantities, and cycle times. Ensure assumptions are accurate and maintained in the ERP system. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics, Engineering, etc. to deliver the material supply plan 3. Regularly review and evaluate status of component inventory, demand, and supply plans identifying and closing gaps in supply ensuring continuity of production. Investigates alternatives to streamline inventory levels and implements effective solutions. Work to establish rules and process around inventory levels that will prevent out of stocks while avoiding material write-offs 4. Ensure that the material supply plan accuracy is measured and reported, issues identified and effectively addressed in a timely manner. Defines, measures, and reports key performance indicators for assigned projects, enabling teams and functions to measure and improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness 5. Create a culture that is focused on continuous improvement, inclusion, and development. Develop a working environment that attracts, retains, and motivates high performing talent with the intent to build a pipeline of strong employees that CSL can leverage in striving to achieve its purpose 6. Ensure close collaboration with the Global Procurement team utilizing escalation processes are appropriately leveraged for supplier/material related issues for the site (price, quality, delivery, etc.) Support site escalations and initiatives beyond scope as needed. Develop action plans to improve supplier performance, and provide support to evaluate robustness of supply agreements and other agreements. 7. Facilitate the working relationships between Global Sourcing and the Kankakee site organization. In conjunction with Global Procurement develop the yearly budget standard costs, to include the compilation, identification & presentation of budget costs for COG materials. Co-lead monthly procurement and sourcing forum in Kankakee to drive prioritization and continuous improvement across functions. 8. Develop and maintain an effective department culture of continuous improvement through employee selection, training and mentoring while focusing on operational efficiency and the elimination of “non-value added” activities. Strive for the goal of implementing and documenting best practices. Continually improve Material Planning Systems and processes 9. Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required in management or technical field, Masters degree or equivalent preferred
  • 7 years' of Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain or Manufacturing experience preferred, including 2+ years' experience leading a procurement team.
  • 3 or more years' working in a highly regulated environment.
  • 3 or more years' working experience with SAP modules such as Material Management (MM), Production Planning and Control (PP), and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) or working experience with Kinaxis Rapid Response.
