About The Position

Novelis' Greensboro facility is located in Greensboro Georgia. With 140 employees it is the first stand-alone used beverage can recycling facility in the company now responsible for pioneering a majority of Novelis' recycling technologies. Residents enjoy nearby Lake Oconee which includes several golf communities. In addition, Athens Georgia - home to the University of Georgia and hundreds of cultural and sporting events each year - is a short drive away. Novelis Greensboro actively promotes safety recycling and STEM education through several local community organizations and in 2018 the Boys and Girls Club named Novelis its Business Partner of the Year. The Regional Procurement team, located in Greensboro, Georgia is seeking a Procurement Operations Lead. The person in this role will report to the Sr. Manager of Procurement Operations. The ideal candidate ensures the effective and efficient supply of critical production supplies, direct and indirect goods, and services to the manufacturing facility with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and Innovation. The candidate will also be commercially responsible for the effective management of the manufacturing unit's Capital Expenditures and Operating Supply Budget. The POL identifies risks to operations across the suppliers' value chains and defines mitigating actions. The POL provides full commercial service to the manufacturing units by deploying a professional strategy to deliver operational excellence in Procurement processes, systems, and tools.

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar
  • 3-7 years of procurement experience and influential leadership experience
  • Mature Business Acumen with the ability to create, collaborate, and leverage a working knowledge of financials
  • Experience in Negotiation and Commercial Terms Management
  • Highly effective communications in all levels of the organization
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP and/or Oracle experience is a plus
  • Willing to be onsite 5 days per week

Responsibilities

  • Alignment with Regional & Global Sourcing Leaders to provide full service to the plant in terms of commercial agreements, cost management, cost containment, and continuous productivity improvements for all purchased goods & services.
  • Ensures execution of Supplier Quality and Relationship Management services to the plant, defining the strategy to resolving any quality related issues from existing suppliers.
  • Drive strategy with a focus on identifying and managing risks to operations created through vulnerabilities in the suppliers' value chains.
  • Propose continuous improvement and simplification of tasks to maximize the use of plant resources with more value-added activities.
  • Ensure that the plant has all the spare parts required on hand by actively managing the Storeroom team.
  • Align the Plant Procurement activities and initiatives with the plant objectives by being an active player of the Plant Leadership team.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare control strategies for unfavorable events through analysis of data.
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
  • Work with Plant Management, Regional & Global Procurement teams to meet or exceed the plants savings budget.
  • Coordinate with Sourcing Leaders on development and execution of the sourcing strategies and compliance to existing supplier agreements.
  • Ensure day-to-day transactions are effectively managed and the team is executing in the most efficient way.
  • Develop and deploy a strong working cross functional strategy representing procurement and the key stakeholders from across the plant operations.
  • Negotiate plant level agreements in alignment with Regional/Global Sourcing Leaders on high-risk commodities.
  • Create and improve best-practice based processes.
