About The Position

The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Officer to oversee the processes associated with the procurement of goods and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision to assigned staff
  • Manage and coordinate with Town departments the preparation and issuance of formal solicitations to procure required goods and services
  • Maintains integrity of procurement process
  • Develop, draft and recommend changes to Town Procurement Code
  • Research market sources and vendors to locate and ensure most cost effective and competitive pricing
  • Prepare and issue solicitations documents
  • Receive and evaluate proposals and bids
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers on proposals, contracts and contract claims
  • Recommend standard contract clauses
  • Review and execute contracts, purchase orders, change orders, contract amendments and other documents
