This is senior-level professional work responsible for diverse, complex, and difficult purchasing actions to acquire the product and services resources County departments and agencies need to fulfill the operational responsibilities. The Procurement Officer III class is responsible for identifying agency operating resource needs, and serves as the designated official authorized to communicate and negotiate with suppliers to procure needed operating resources. This position is designated 'Essential', and the employee must be willing to participate during emergency situations in the event of a natural or manmade disaster; special activities/events. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
