The Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing and procurement strategies that support the objectives of the business unit. This position is responsible for ensuring that all direct suppliers meet business objectives and defined quality standards. The Procurement Manager will establish KPIs and action plans to drive results within the business and be responsible for material cost savings (including PPV) and supplier risk management.

  • Define and implement comprehensive strategies to reduce costs, mitigate risk, improve quality, shorten lead-times and reduce inventories.
  • Responsible for cost productivity strategies directly related to direct material acquisition across all factories fabricating and assembling cooling modules.
  • Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine the best strategy for sourcing and procurement of materials.
  • Develop standard sourcing processes and tools for evaluation, negotiation, and selection of suppliers.
  • Implement best practices in procurement and supplier management.
  • Develop low-cost country sourcing strategies across the regions.
  • Provide procurement competency and leadership support to the supply chain teams.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial/Regional teams to support sourcing initiatives.
  • Develop procurement effectiveness metrics and supplier scorecards.
  • Maintain knowledge of direct commodity markets for forecasting guidance.
  • Communicate and enforce company policies and regulations regarding supplier compliance.
  • Set policies and standards that drive execution against supplier diversity and cost savings targets.
  • Drive improvement in cashflow through capital efficiency and inventory management.
  • BS/BA degree from accredited university in Supply Chain, Business Administration, engineering or related majors; MBA or MA/MS in related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing global procurement functions including experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • At least 3+ years of experience working in a global manufacturing environment supporting significant revenue.
  • Minimum of five (5) years Materials Control and/or Buyer experience working with MRP.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of compliance with regulatory agencies impacting network materials management activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written to all levels within Modine.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of procedures and regulations relating to procurement in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expert in negotiations and ability to train others.
  • Experience in successfully leading and managing teams dispersed globally.
  • Proven ability to translate corporate strategy into multi-year, fact-based sourcing strategies.
