About The Position

As a Manager, Procurement in Managed Transportation at RXO, you will oversee procurement functions, implement category management strategies, formalize supplier relationships, and negotiate pricing agreements. This role involves collaboration with customers and operations managers to create effective procurement solutions, driving positive results for both the company and its clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
  • 5 years of experience in procurement, focusing on managing the Purchase-to-Pay process and supplier relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
  • Experience using Coupa or other procurement platforms.
  • Solid experience with all modes of transportation and logistics.
  • Experience with Load board and freight management platforms, including One Network, DAT, and Freight Waves Sonar.
  • Understanding of various rate structures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Access) and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather procurement requirements and facilitate the procurement process.
  • Monitor procurement metrics and KPIs to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
  • Conduct RFQs and RFPs, analyze rates, and determine supplier selections while ensuring compliance with sourcing strategy.
  • Negotiate rates and analyze market prices to secure cost-effective solutions for customers.
  • Create and maintain supplier benchmark pricing to support new customer opportunities and organizational cost studies.
  • Onboard new suppliers into the network and manage all carrier contracts for customers.
  • Compile and interpret performance metrics for meetings with customers and suppliers, addressing operational issues as required.
  • Develop strategic transportation solutions for customers and research data for changes or new opportunities within the network.
  • Maintain departmental records in accordance with established policies and audit guidelines.
  • Educate the network on Temperature Control mode of transportation.
