As a Procurement Manager on EFE’s enterprise Procurement team, you’ll be responsible for contributing to the Procure-2-Pay lifecycle process in addressing Edelman Financial Engines business requirements using a strategic sourcing approach, to evaluate and select vendors for goods and services that are of the highest quality and best value; and for providing direction and oversight ensuring that daily operations are performed within budget, with integrity and in accordance to the company’s Policies and Procedures. The Procurement function is a centralized shared services function within the FP&A organization. The role is a strategic sourcing Manager position with in-depth supply management, vendor management and overall procurement experience including project management and spends analytics. We are looking for someone who, as an individual contributor, has proven success developing and maintaining strong internal relationships to understand, support and guide the business goals while providing assertive leadership in mitigating risk, negotiating commercial terms and executing effectual legal contracts to help support various cross functional departments including Human Resources, Information Technology, Financial Market Data, Marketing, and Operations. In addition, the Procurement Manager would be responsible for Event offsites, convention and board meeting agreements as well as creating and tracking purchase orders per auditing and compliance policies.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years’ Procurement experience in indirect sourcing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, intermediate level for excel and PowerPoint
  • ERP Systems experience and knowledge (i.e Oracle, SAP, Coupa, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Procurement (i.e. CPM, CTPE, CPP, SPSM, CIPS) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Creation of analytics and savings tracking and scorecard metrics
  • Proven excellence and leadership capabilities in contract negotiations with suppliers for optimal contract terms while mitigating financial and operational risk
  • Excellent Communicator – demonstrates excellent written communication skills across all levels of the organization. Ability to present to the Head of Procurement and senior management ideas, issues and recommendations spearheading business change.
  • Innovative and technically proficient in P2P systems (i.e. Oracle NetSuite)
  • Supporting and guiding business managers with large scale contracts for inventory accuracy, tiered pricing for leverage buying, contract pricing flexibility and budget management
  • Strategic evaluation, analysis and negotiation of best in class contract terms.
  • Proficiency/Exposure redlining commercial contract terms and conditions and direct interface/representative of the firm for indirect sourcing contract negotiations
  • Creative critical thinking in negotiating and implementing fee structure commitments with suppliers that supports the business requirements
  • Development of competitive tiered pricing models
  • RFP initiatives including initiation, creation, launch, tracking and analysis, competitive bid negotiation, drafting and redlining, to final contract execution.
  • Management of select category support & maintenance agreements and SaaS/SW renewals
  • Audit and collaborate with business owner’s category specific inventories ensuring proper requirements are identified and adequate licensing/consumption is gained, and cost control measures are implemented
  • Supporting and establishing annual budget targets for recurring agreement commitments.
  • Lead meetings across multiple departments in driving change and consolidation of suppliers for cost savings and vendor optimization
  • Closely work with the Accounts Payable team in ensuring Purchase Orders are entered and Contracts are matched with invoices for timely and accurate invoice payment process.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a high-volume environment while ensuring excellent attention to detail; ability to establish and implement objectives and strategy
