About The Position

The Procurement Manager leads Galaxy’s owner‑furnished (OFCI) procurement program for large‑scale data center development. You are accountable for planning, sourcing, contracting, and managing delivery for long‑lead equipment and technical service packages that directly impact critical‑path project schedules. You partner closely with Construction, Project Management, Operations, Engineering, and Finance to ensure Galaxy procures the right materials and services at the right time, with the right commercial terms—delivering outcomes better, faster, and cheaper. You bring experience managing complex or long‑lead hardware procurement, understand critical‑path project delivery, and operate with a strong customer‑service mindset when supporting internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Supply Chain Management, Procurement Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of procurement experience supporting hyperscale, hardware, energy, utilities, industrial, or mission‑critical construction projects.
  • Experience purchasing long‑lead equipment (e.g., electrical gear, mechanical systems, generators, switchgear, cooling systems) or complex construction service packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex technical and schedule‑critical contracts.
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices, including competitive sourcing, bid evaluation, supplier performance metrics, and RFP development.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to distill complex technical and commercial information into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to partner closely with stakeholders in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leveraging procure‑to‑pay systems such as Ramp, Workday, Coupa, or SAP Ariba.
  • Professional certifications (ASCM, CSCP, PMP, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Operations to define early procurement requirements for OFCI equipment and service packages.
  • Develop category and sourcing strategies aligned to schedule risk, cost drivers, and technical requirements.
  • Translate technical specifications into clear scopes of work, commercial requirements, and procurement schedules.
  • Lead vendor prequalification, competitive sourcing events, and RFP/RFQ development for long‑lead equipment and construction‑adjacent service packages.
  • Manage bid processes, analyze commercial and technical proposals, and perform total cost of ownership evaluations.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, risk allocations, and commercial terms that support project objectives.
  • Prepare award recommendations and decision‑support materials for leadership review.
  • Support contract drafting and terms negotiation in partnership with Legal and technical stakeholders.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, change orders, and contract amendments throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure contractual requirements align with specifications, schedule expectations, and budget assumptions.
  • Monitor production, logistics, and delivery of long‑lead equipment, proactively identifying risks to cost or schedule.
  • Track supplier capacity, manufacturing constraints, and broader market conditions to inform early‑warning risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support supplier onboarding, performance evaluation, KPI/SLA tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships across critical equipment and service categories.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation, commercial logs, delivery trackers, and risk registers.
  • Prepare recurring reporting on cost, lead times, supplier performance, market trends, and critical procurement milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with Galaxy’s P2P policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes and deliver results better, faster, and more efficiently.
