About The Position

Turner & Townsend invite you to join our expanding team in the US (New York, Houston and/or Chicago). As the Procurement Lead, you will initially support a leading developer of renewable energy assets, managing major procurement and contracts management initiatives. However, this is much more than a single client assignment – we're looking for someone to help us establish a strong foundation in the US and, over time, support our growth across the renewable energy sector. The Role As the Procurement Lead, you will support our clients with the procurement and contracts management of key packages for major onshore wind, BESS, utility-scale solar PV, and Power-to-X projects. Your first project will be to support with the development of an onshore wind portfolio and will involve the procurement of wind turbines (WTGs). It is therefore essential that you have experience with this scope and a proven track-record of the negotiation and management of turbine supply agreements (TSAs), as well as other WTG related contracts.

Requirements

  • Onshore wind experience.
  • Specific experience with WTG procurement and the negotiation of the turbine supply agreement (TSA), as well as any other turbine related contracts, e.g. service and warranty/maintenance agreements.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in dealing with the WTG OEMs and supply chain (GE Vernova, Vestas, Nordex, Enercon, etc.).
  • US market experience is required.
  • Must be accessible to NYC for travel to client office – assume bi-weekly, but tba with client.

Nice To Haves

  • Ideally experience on the developer side but could also come from a WTG OEM - if the latter then they will not be in a procurement role, they will be in sales/tendering and/or contracts management.
  • If not based in NY then we could consider Houston (Head of Procurement is based there) and Chicago (EPC team sits there but not sure how much involvement they have with the onshore wind portfolio). Must have the ability to travel, as Chris mentions.
  • If they have experience with BESS and utility-scale solar then this is an added benefit as they can work across the wider portfolio of projects. However, wind experience seems to be the key right now.
