About The Position

What You Will Do Assist in sourcing IT hardware, software, telecommunications and consulting/contractor services in alignment with business needs. Support vendor evaluation and selection processes, including RFI/RFP coordination. Help manage purchase orders, invoices, and contract documentation. Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, Finance, Legal) to ensure procurement compliance. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and vendor communications. Participate in supplier performance reviews and contract renewals. Assist in supplier administration activities (supplier setup in master database). Problem solves, troubleshoot and overcome challenges. How You Will Do It Vendor Research & Analysis: Use online databases (e.g., Gartner, CoPilot, ChatGPT) and company-approved supplier lists; compare offerings via spreadsheets or procurement platforms like Zycus. Requirements Gathering: Attend internal meetings to understand IT needs and document findings in vendor comparison matrices. Tools & Collaboration: Work with Excel, PowerPoint, Zycus, SharePoint, and procurement portals; collaborate with IT teams, category managers, and sourcing specialists. Problem-Solving: Address challenges such as budget vs. technical requirements, vendor delays, and compliance conflicts by analyzing root causes and developing creative sourcing strategies. Troubleshooting Competency: Build skills to resolve technical spec mismatches, clarify licensing/service terms, address integration issues, and mitigate contractual risks. Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as a bridge between IT, Finance, Legal, and suppliers; facilitate discussions, align priorities, and influence decisions to balance cost, quality, and risk.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems Management, Information Technology, Finance, and/or Business.
  • Ability to be in the greater Milwaukee area in the summer.
  • Duration: Summer 2026.
  • Up to 40 hours per week.
  • Part-time during the school year may be available.
  • Working Arrangements: Hybrid internship – must have a quiet workspace away from interruptions, with the option to work in the office.
  • Be able to maintain regular contact with the supervisor/team via virtual methods.
