About The Position

The Procurement Director will play a key role in building, creating, and negotiating vendor relationships and procurement strategies. This is a senior-level position that will focus on blending supply chain management, logistics, and project cost control across the branches and corporate office. In addition, the procurement director will need to communicate across multiple levels, track rebate programs, and strengthen the team of purchasers across the company.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Director or in a similar role, with a strong background in procurement strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • 8+ years of experience required.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and to lead a team.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with procurement software and systems, as well as a solid understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP - Certified Procurement Professional) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Building, creating, and negotiating vendor relationships and procurement strategies.
  • Blending supply chain management, logistics, and project cost control across the branches and corporate office.
  • Communicate across multiple levels.
  • Track rebate program.
  • Strengthen the team of purchasers across the company.
  • Develop and implement inventive and cost-effective procurement strategy across the company.
  • Set direction and standardize procurement practices and develop consensual 'best practices'.
  • Establish "C" level relationships with national/regional vendors.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms and conditions, optimizing cost savings and procurement efficiency for companywide pricing discounts.
  • Evaluate supply chain innovations offered by vendors and make recommendations.
  • Oversee Vendor/Manufacturer Rebate Programs.
  • Review existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing feasibility and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Provide leadership to procurement peer group and develop training programs for purchasing agents.
  • Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements, identifying and mitigating potential risks to the organization.
  • Monitor commodities cost trends.
