R-2 Contractors

About The Position

We build the infrastructure that powers modern energy – R-2 Contractors works exclusively on power projects including, but not limited to substations, transmission, distribution, and generation. Our capabilities include grading, excavation, foundations, trenching, conduit, and grounding. Our culture is simple and non-negotiable: Pride. Grit. Own it! Pride – You care about the quality of your work and the relationships you build. You don’t cut corners, and you represent the company well with vendors and teammates. Grit – You don’t stop at “we couldn’t find pricing.” You keep digging, making calls, and finding solutions when others would give up. Own It! – You take responsibility for your work. If something gets missed, you fix it. If there’s a gap, you fill it. No passing the buck. If you are looking for a role with limited responsibility and constant instruction, this will not be the right fit. If you like taking initiative, staying connected to the work, and being someone the team can depend on, keep reading. We’re hiring a Procurement Specialist – Preconstruction who can support estimating and operations by building real vendor coverage, securing competitive pricing, and helping set projects up for success before they ever break ground. This role goes beyond the desk. You’ll be expected to pick up the phone, dig into the market, and at times get out in the field to find and build relationships with suppliers that others can’t. This position plays a critical role in our preconstruction process: You’ll be responsible to work directly with estimating and operations for sourcing accurate and competitive vendor pricing, identifying gaps in vendor coverage, and helping drive procurement strategy from bid through project startup. Not every supplier is easily found online, we expect this position to actively build relationships with vendors requiring occasional travel to new and potential project areas. You’ll succeed here if you: Stay ahead of problems instead of reacting to them Ask questions early and often Take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks If you’re someone who takes ownership, follows through, and doesn’t wait for direction to solve problems, you’ll do well here.
