About The Position

The Procurement Coordinator at Pierce Transit is responsible for the preparation and administration of Public Works construction contracts and various service agreements. This role serves as the primary point of contact for communication and issue resolution with external agencies, providing mentorship and guidance in contract administration to agency staff and stakeholders. The position requires expertise in procurement processes and contract management, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Five years of experience in public works contract administration.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• Mid-level computer skills and time management abilities.

• Knowledge of public procurement principles and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement and contract administration processes for public works and purchased services contracts.
• Serve as the procurement subject matter expert, consulting with staff and stakeholders on procurement strategies.
• Review and edit boilerplate documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in the development and implementation of procurement manuals and related policies.
• Provide technical expertise and training to agency staff on procurement processes.
• Oversee procurement and administration of assigned contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Assist with invoice review and approval, and monitor contract expiration dates.
• Participate in the development of contract changes and audits.
• Lead the evaluation team for service agreements and prepare contracts for services and construction.
• Assist with the administration of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program.
