Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Corporate Manager of Purchasing, the Procurement Compliance Specialist has the primary responsibility for ensuring that Supply Chain transactions comply with applicable policies and regulations, including but not limited to the federal Uniform Guidance regulations that are applicable to purchases made with federal Research Funds. The Compliance Specialist understands the negative impacts to the organization when compliance is not achieved including fines and loss of sponsor funding and takes appropriate steps to mitigate associated risks. The incumbent works as a high functioning independent contributor while participating as a member of a small team.

  • Supply Chain point of contact and compliance lead ensuring that Research transactions meet the documentation requirements of the Uniform Guidance Procurement Standards
  • Monitors and reviews transaction submissions for compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Based on transaction details, either approves, denies, or sends requests back for revision.
  • Employs strong problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage Mass General Brigham Supply Chain policy, procedures and training documents to direct all levels of the research community to the Mass General Brigham requirements for research purchases
  • Interprets detailed submission documents to determine completeness, accuracy, and conformance to applicable policies and regulation, escalating when necessary to bring transactions into compliance understanding that failure to comply could result in negative financial impact to the organization including loss of funding.
  • Ensures operating manuals, procedural documents, and externally facing training resources remain current when regulations change
  • Prepares for and participates in audits from regulatory agencies by gathering and submitting required compliance documentation pertaining to Supply Chain transactions.
  • Supports other procurement activities within Supply Chain as assigned by the Corporate Manager of Purchasing
  • Is a model of Service Excellence to demonstrate appropriate and professional behavior, ensuring proper communication and collaboration within the department, across the Mass General Brigham network, and with external customers.
