General Description of Role The Procurement Category Manager oversees the entire DaVita Way of Procurement process for large global categories (typically >$25M spend, and up to $250M), from strategy development to execution. They set goals, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with field/regional counterparts for optimal strategy implementation. The category manager would focus on medical / surgical supply spend as well as associated distribution partnerships. This includes: PPE, tape, gauze, dressings, needles/syringes as well as distribution for both dialysis and medical / surgical supplies. Expected Outcomes Driven by the Teammate Savings, Innovation, improved quality and Service: Leading the entire category management process ensures optimized strategies, fostering efficiency and innovation in procurement practices. Yearly Savings targets will vary from $1.0 to $3.5M Creative Commercial Outcomes: Developing and executing effective "go to market" strategies facilitates successful negotiations, driving favorable commercial terms and value creation. Regular negotiations with VP, Director level at Suppliers Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborating across business units and regional teams fosters positive organizational outcomes, ensuring alignment and synergy in procurement efforts.
