About The Position

The Procurement Category Manager - Transmissions leads the strategic direction and execution of the transmission category across International's product lines. This role is responsible for global sourcing, supplier performance, cost optimization, and sustainability initiatives. The position requires deep industry knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to influence cross-functional and executive stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of procurement experience in automotive or commercial vehicle manufacturing.
  • Proven success in category strategy development and execution.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in tools like Power BI or Excel and use of CoPilot.
  • Experience with sustainability programs and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in cross-brand category strategy development and supplier negotiations to ensure alignment across TRATON group companies.
  • Develop and execute global category strategies aligned with business objectives and TRATON group goals.
  • Lead the Transmission Category Management Team (CMT) and mentor junior team members.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives using advanced analytics, should-cost modeling, and competitive sourcing.
  • Negotiate and manage complex commercial agreements, including performance-based and joint development contracts.
  • Collaborate with engineering, legal, and quality teams to mitigate supply risk and improve product performance.
  • Build strategic supplier partnerships focused on innovation, sustainability, and long-term value creation.
  • Monitor and report category performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Lead change management initiatives to transform procurement processes and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with global trade, environmental, and ethical sourcing regulations.
