About The Position

The Procurement Buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services necessary for the organization's operations while ensuring cost efficiency. This position involves analyzing market trends, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and maintaining effective relationships to secure high-quality products.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience.
  • Work requires following basic safety precautions. Requires lifting objects up to 25 lbs. and standing for extended periods of time.
  • This job requires professional knowledge of and skill in applying business purchasing processes and practices with emphasis on procurement contract sourcing, bidding, negotiation and administration. This includes skills in communication, organization, presentation and attention to detail. Use of office and specialized computer applications and databases is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
  • Master's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential suppliers and conduct thorough evaluations to assess their capabilities, pricing, and quality to ensure they meet the organization's requirements.
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable contract terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment conditions.
  • Create and process purchase orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities, and pricing to facilitate timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Track inventory levels and usage rates to anticipate needs and prevent stockouts, ensuring that the organization has the necessary materials to operate effectively.
  • Perform regular price analysis to compare costs among suppliers and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly to ensure a smooth procurement process.
  • Generate reports on procurement activities, including spending patterns, supplier performance, and compliance with procurement policies.
  • Stay informed about market trends and changes in the supply chain landscape to make informed purchasing decisions and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support in sourcing goods and services effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
