About The Position

Kalos Services is hiring a Procurement Assistant to support our General Construction team. This role plays a critical part in sourcing and coordinating building materials, equipment, and subcontracted services needed for successful project delivery. The Procurement Assistant ensures materials are available on time and within budget, supporting field crews and project managers to keep projects running smoothly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
• Prior experience in procurement, construction supply chain, or material coordination.
• Familiarity with construction building materials and equipment strongly preferred.
• Strong organization and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of ERP/procurement systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented approach with a high level of accountability.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials and commodities at the best possible prices.
• Ensure all necessary materials are ordered and available before the project's start date.
• Maintain clear and proactive communication with superintendents and project managers, keeping them informed about all orders.
• Accurately track and document all purchase orders.
• Assist in reviewing project plans to ensure no items are missed.
• Support sourcing and evaluation of building material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Request and analyze supplier quotes for lumber, concrete, steel, finishes, and related materials.
• Coordinate with vendors to secure timely deliveries to jobsites.
• Prepare purchase orders and requisitions per company standards.
• Track inventory levels and jobsite deliveries for active projects.
• Assist in negotiating favorable pricing and terms for bulk purchases.
• Maintain accurate records of orders, costs, deliveries, and contracts.
• Generate reports to monitor spend, delivery schedules, and vendor performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and industry standards.
• Communicate procurement updates and challenges with Construction Managers and leadership.
• Collaborate with all pertinent Commercial Construction stakeholders to align materials with construction schedules.
• Help verify accuracy and quality of materials delivered to jobsites.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in purchasing and vendor coordination.
• Coordinate with the Warehouse team to review in-house stock and/or identify materials returned from previous projects that can be reused before purchasing new items.

Benefits

• Compensation: $22 – $26 (based on experience)
