About The Position

Procurement works with the business to meet their supplier and purchasing needs through the full lifecycle of the relationship with the goal of maximizing commercial value, supporting the retention of suppliers aligned with Mizuho standards, helping to ensure service and product quality, and optimizing expense management. The function is part of the Corporate Strategy and Administration division and provides Sourcing, Purchasing and Contingent Workforce Management services supporting the Americas region. We are looking for a Procurement Analytics and Data lead to join our Procurement team. The role is vital to developing a procurement data management framework, leading to demonstrable improvements in data quality, insights, and transparency across the region. The role holder will be responsible for developing the analytics and data management approach for the Procurement function. They will collaborate within the department, with business partners, and with technology to deliver incremental change as the department evolves. Additionally, they may oversee key operational processes in support of new data management approaches. This role requires stakeholder management, planning, strategic communications, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage projects that enhance operational efficiency and deliver innovation to current ways of working.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in procurement, data management, or financial analysis roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, systems, and data flows.
  • Experience with data management tools, data analysis techniques and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for data-driven decision making.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
  • Must be able to work as a team member & independently.
  • Strong communication skills: both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrates tolerance and understanding in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Proficiency in utilizing data visualization, reporting, and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and Procurement platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Drive creation of foundational procurement data management practices and in some cases manage key procurement data.
  • Establish and enforce data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure high-quality, reliable, and secure Procurement data.
  • Own and evolve Procurement materials taxonomy, work with Sourcing, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable teams to establish process for classification of supplier spend in the region.
  • Establish Procurement vendor data model and lifecycle processes, working with IT to implement appropriate solutions.
  • Support the use and buildout of the spend analytics platform, working with Sourcing, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and technology to implement and update automation.
  • Develop approach to Procurement Knowledge Management, alongside buildout of Procurement Platform.
  • Lead and collaborate across the team to manage our Intranet presence and key training materials.
  • Own and execute the Procurement communication strategy across the broader business.
