About The Position

The Procurement Agent, Supplemental position at the Village of Wellington involves performing technical and specialized work in the procurement of goods and services. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree may be required.
  • Four (4) years of directly-related purchasing experience including coordinating bid processes, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver License.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) certification.
  • Experience working for a moderate to large scale municipality.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance regarding updates to state contract provisions/requirements.
  • Investigates sources of supply for prices and conducts comparative cost surveys.
  • Reviews new and existing vendor records to ensure compliance.
  • Analyzes the Village's purchasing history to identify goods and services for bidding.
  • Conducts and assists departments with the entire bidding process, including preparation of specifications and formal advertising of bid invitations.
  • Attends and/or presides over bid openings; analyzes bids and awards contracts according to state statutes and Village ordinances.
  • Establishes amount of bid deposits, performance bonds, and liability insurance for contracts.
  • Maintains all bid document records including bids, bid tabulations, advertisements, and addenda.
  • Maintains index of all fully executed contracts; answers questions regarding bids, specifications, and bills through correspondence or telephone.
  • Assists departments in obtaining and reviewing insurance certificate requests for goods and services.
  • Assists with purchase, inventory, and surplus of fixed assets.
