About The Position

The Proctor/Events Assistant assists in running the actual assessment of medical students at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, as well as assisting with on-/off-campus events throughout the year. This is a Per Diem position - schedule will vary monthly and event hours are Monday - Friday between 7am - 1pm (once a month it will be 4pm - 8pm).

Requirements

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Must be flexible and available for all dates of a specific event (training, practice interviews, exam dates).
• Able to multitask, follow direction, strength in organization, a confident and positive demeanor, and comfortable with technology.
• Reliable, punctual and dependable.
• Must be a good communicator and have ability to assist individuals, interface with faculty, staff and students during events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.

Nice To Haves

• Educational training and/or professional experience in health professions, communication, behavioral sciences, or education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical skills lab by assigning participants to appropriate rooms, timing an activity, setting up rooms.
• Collects and organizes paperwork.
• Locates specific Standardized Patients for encounters and assists them to the designated areas.
• Checks in/out Standardized Patients.
• Fields student questions, and requests staff assistance when needed.
• Administers CBSE NBME Subject Exams, and other SOM exams, under supervision of a SOM trained 'master' proctor.
• Troubleshoots computer issues.
• Assists with events hosted by the SOM or the students.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
