About The Position

TITLE: Processor at Brookville Retail Program PURPOSE: Sort, price, ticket and coordinate processing of clothing/wares to maintain adequate production quotas, maintain the flow of goods based on volume of donations. FUNCTION: Sort, price and ticket product, separate, package, and inventory wares, and supply processed shoes to assure production quotas and deadlines are met. Quality and material control. General housekeeping and safety. Work performed is to be within acceptable quality standards. Performs other related duties as directed by the Plant Supervisors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs production activities as designated by Plant Supervisors. The understanding/commitment to the Goodwill Mission Must be able to work with people with all abilities Quality and material control General housekeeping and safety Recognize use, style, value, saleable, salvage, trash and seasonal Maintain quota based on volume of donations Sort, price and tag/ticket merchandise Box salvage merchandise (shoes, books, belts, etc.) Mark everything that will leave the building CLEARLY Direct obvious trash from box or pile Maintains work station; cleanliness, neatness, orderliness, safe conditions for staff and performing proper fire safety procedures. Box items to be shipped Do seasonal items as they come in and box for storage Clean when necessary Must be able to stand for long periods of time, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; push or pull. Must be able to occasionally sit, kneel, squat, and climb. Must be able to regularly stoop, bend, reach tum and twist body and lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Cross train in other areas as needed Performs other related duties as directed by Plant Supervisors.

  • Must be able to occasionally sit, kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Must be able to regularly stoop, bend, reach tum and twist body and lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have good work habits, such as acceptable attitude and punctuality and must respond appropriately to supervision.
  • Must possess adequate physical endurance to work at industrial standards and must be able to lift up to 25# unassisted, and up to 50# assisted.

Nice To Haves

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred, but on-the-job training is provided.

  • Investigates and reports unsatisfactory conditions in the Plant to Plant Supervisors and/or Executive Vice President of Retail, being sure to follow the chain of command.
