About The Position

Installs molds when Mold Setter is unavailable and ensures mold is installed properly and safely on machine platens Installs, sets up, and ensures all needed auxiliary equipment is functioning correctly Must be able to operate hoists and other equipment in a safe manner Follows and understands how to adjust machine parameters according to Process Control Set-up Data Sheet Understands how to confirm/install/set: water lines, die height, ejection stroke, nozzles, heaters, hot runner controllers, hot oil heaters, and other equipment Has the ability to troubleshoot processing issues with an acceptable outcome Ensure injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and connected automated systems are set to regulation parameters, meet quality standards and all production goals Starts machines up, checks the part quality, has QA confirm and puts the machine in production, and notifies the Supervisor and operator Ensures machine is set to run at standard cycle time Completes all paperwork and signs off on orders in timely and completely Maintain an organized and clean production area ensuring a safe work environment Monitor and troubleshoot processing problems, perform preventive maintenance tasks, and document changes Provide feedback on mold design and assist tool and die makers to dial in each mold for optimal cycle time and quality Understand the importance of reducing and re-using material scrap for environmental concern and to save cost

Requirements

  • Must be a self-starter who is able to work with little direction and a high level of self-motivation
  • Ability to complete work tasks with minimal supervision
  • Capability to read blueprints and manuals as needed
  • Can read and understand production books for work instructions and quality requirements
  • Can complete basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, and counting
  • Ability to read and understand product drawings
  • Follows all procedures, rules, and work in a safe manner
  • Able to operate hoists and other equipment in a safe manner
  • Has the ability to troubleshoot processing issues with an acceptable outcome
  • Must be able to complete crane, lift truck, and other government mandated training
  • Maintain an organized and clean production area ensuring a safe work environment
  • Ability to apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm by grasping the object.
  • Ability to complete repetitive hand motions with wrists, ands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to complete repetitive finger dexterity such as picking, pinching, or otherwise primarily working with fingers
  • Ability to stoop, reach, and stand for extended periods of time as well as the ability to walk from one work site to another
  • Capability to lift and move up to 30 pounds as needed
  • Ability to work in an area with temperature fluctuation - at times extreme heat
  • Ability to work in area where noise levels are high enough to cause employees to shout to be heard above noise level
  • Ability to work in area where there is exposure to various fumes, odors, and dust at all times
