Under the direction of the Supervisor, Operations, this position provides for the efficient processing of materials as may be required to satisfy customer orders. Responsible to unload materials in preparation for processing and to re-load materials upon completion using a pallet jack or other equipment to move materials as needed. Responsible to pick books for customer orders. Place selected books into or onto appropriate container which includes totes that travel via a conveyor line or on book trucks which must be manually moved. Responsible to stock and shelve inventory for future orders. Research and correct stocking errors as needed. Performs the following functions as assigned as part of the processing of materials according to specific instructions and customer requirements: Pocketer - Glues kits into books according to process codes. Labeler - Attach labels to spines of books pulls dust covers from books. Sizer - Measures each book with a ruler and pulls a plastic jacket to fit each book. Inserter - Inserts dust cover into a plastic jacket, books without dust cover get protection tapes over the spine labels. Gluer - Glues or tapes jackets onto books according to process codes. Biller - Takes care of paperwork and checks the books for quality. Responsible to perform specials processing to include RFID, security tags, special labels as required by the customer. Responsible to perform other duties of equal or lesser classification irrespective of required change in department, hours (including mandatory overtime) or work conditions as directed by supervisor. Maintain safe, clean and organized work areas. Cross training and substitution of tasks that may be of higher classification as required by supervision.
