About The Position

Microtech Knives is seeking a Processing Technician to join our team. This critical role ensures the accurate and efficient processing of parts and components in a safe and high-quality manner. As a Processing Technician, you will play a key role in preparing items for various production stages, including final assembly, painting, and heat treatment. This position may require scheduled and unscheduled overtime throughout the year to meet production deadlines and support trade show schedules.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and mechanical drawings provided by managers and team leaders.
  • Proficiency in using basic processing equipment, machines, and hand tools.
  • Skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and determining efficient repair solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to address challenges proactively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a team environment and interact with multiple levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain tumbling equipment using ceramic and Triziac media of various sizes.
  • Perform media blasting with aluminum oxide and glass bead materials.
  • Execute surface grinding operations and support related tasks.
  • Conduct blade preparation, including spinning, serrating, chamfering, and buffing.
  • Perform cleaning and scrubbing of parts to ensure quality standards.
  • Prepare parts and components for packaging and shipping.
  • Handle buffing, polishing, and deburring processes.
  • Execute heat treatment techniques on materials, including PM blade steels.
  • Organize and manage the flow of parts through the work cell to meet production timelines.
