Being a Processing Operator means being at the heart of how we make our products. It’s a hands-on, fast-paced role where you’ll learn how to run equipment, troubleshoot issues, and help keep our production lines moving smoothly. Our processing area is where we prepare, mix, extrude, cut, and oversee the production of the fig-bars across our production lines. We have four lines onsite. Here’s a simple overview of what each part does: Ideal candidates: Experience with inventory management, SAP or similar systems, data tracking, and processing. Forklift experience. Those comfortable with physical work, machine operation, and quick task management. Attention to detail, focus, experience with older or less mobile workers, self-starters. Physical demands: Heavy lifting, repetitive tasks, operating machinery. (must have ability to lift 50 lbs.) Main Processing Areas & Their Roles Pre-Scale: Creating batch records in SAP Gathering raw ingredients like sugar and measuring them precisely following recipes Building batches or kits for the mixers Creating labels in SAP/Checking inventory Mixing: Moving kits from pre-scale to the mixer (using a forklift) Loading ingredients into the mixer using proper tools (like sifters and box cutters) Following batch recipes carefully, especially timing (e.g., jam every 40 minutes) Managing time efficiently to produce more batches Extruders: Loading dough and jam into hoppers that combine into our fig bars Using forklifts to move materials to hoppers Maintaining oven temperatures and entering data into our system Troubleshooting jams and cleaning equipment Note: Hoppers lead to the oven, and attention to detail is key. Guillotine: Cutting bars into the correct sizes Removing any defective products (burned, misshapen, holes) Communicating with the extruders about jams or issues Floater/Material Manager: Supporting different areas as needed Moving simple tasks out of other departments Operating forklifts and managing materials efficiently
