About The Position

This position is for a Processing Operator on the Day Shift, working from 7:00am-7:00pm with a rotating schedule that results in working just 15 days a month. The role involves operating stretch blow molding machines and lift equipment, inspecting and packing rigid-plastic PET containers, and performing scheduled charting and inspections on machines and associated equipment. Operators are expected to start and stop machines, perform routine maintenance tasks like cleaning, lubricating, and tightening machine assemblies, and conduct container inspections using various techniques. They will also be responsible for packing containers at production-line speeds, stacking cartons, and safely operating lift trucks. The role requires maintaining a clean, safe, and effective work environment, applying SPC methodologies for machine adjustments, changing materials, assisting in changeovers, and identifying out-of-spec production. Operators may also fill in as Packaging Technicians and must adhere to Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements, as well as Food Safety Compliance. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have excellent attendance
  • Must have good housekeeping skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have knowledge of product identification and have basic math skills
  • Fork-lift experience
  • Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner
  • Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting (up to 50 pounds periodically)
  • Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms
  • Must be able to complete routine paperwork accurately
  • Ability to work with automated equipment
  • Ability to operator a scanner
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Operate stretch blow molding machines and lift equipment
  • Inspect and pack rigid-plastic PET containers
  • Perform scheduled charting and inspections on machines and associated equipment
  • Start and stop stretch blow-molding machines to produce quality, rigid-plastic containers
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning & lubricating and/or tightening of machine assemblies
  • Perform container inspections using test equipment, statistical quality methods & visual inspection techniques
  • Pack containers into boxes/cartons at designated production-line speeds according to specifications & stack packed cartons to build 4 ft. high units
  • Safely operate lift trucks to move materials
  • Perform as a responsible team member to maintain a clean, safe, and effective work environment
  • Operate stretch blow molding machines, pull seepage, apply SPC methodologies for initiating machine adjustments, change materials, assist in changeovers and identify start and stop of out-of-spec production (held ware)
  • Willing to fill in as Packaging Technician when needed to complete orders
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements
  • Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance
