About The Position

This position provides support for the processing department and acts as a relief operator to fill in as needed due to specific or unplanned production needs, including unexpected absences, vacations, test runs, overtime. Therefore, you must be well-versed in all aspects of processing and able to work in multiple areas. While this position works closely with shift supervisors, at times you will also provide support to the supervisor, as well. To be considered for this role, you much have demonstratable experience as a leader in the department, exhibit a strong safety focus -- concerned for not only for personal safety but for the safety of others, and actively participate in plant / manufacturing initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a processing or blending manufacturing environment
  • Requires shift work with flexibility in hours worked
  • Basic computer skillsamath abilityrequired
  • Ability to multi-task, troubleshoot,and diagnose problemsrequired
  • Ableto communicatewellwith co-workers– bothverbally and in writing,in a clear and logical manner
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently, as well as willingness to work with andassistothers
  • Promote teamwork and function as a team player
  • Must be able totrain and motivate others
  • Must be ableto make sound business decisions after weighing options carefully
  • Must be willing and able to frequently lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
  • must comply with all Federal, State, Corporate, Warehouse and Food Safety standards, policies, and guidelines (i.e., HACCP, GMP, SQF, FDA, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize your knowledge of all processing operations and serve as a relief operator when necessary due to specific needs
  • Coordinate team schedules for breaks and lunches, to allow optimal productivity of the workload and ensure  all policies and procedures are followed properly
  • Check production schedules and confirm all resources and materials needed are in place to carry out daily schedules
  • Work closely with the Processing Manager and Supervisors to establish and maintain open communication with team members about all issues affecting them and their roles in the department
  • Collaborate with Operations department managers and supervisors daily to ensure operations readiness
  • Ensure paperwork issubmittedfor completionandaccurate(i.e.specification sheets, QMS sheets,downtimesheet, etc.)
  • Attend andparticipatein daily production meetings, weekly team meetings,and any other plant personnel meetings
  • Meet with coworkers as necessary to discuss production issues and workflow
  • Continuouslymonitorquality and check finished product for defects, as well as equipment to detect any issues
  • Ensure GMP and Safety policies are being followed
  • Abide by all OSHA regulations and ensure work areas are free of safety violations;immediatelyreport safety hazards or unsafe acts to supervisor
  • Participation in the CI program – i.e., active participation in root cause problem-solving, open communication, generates ideas. 5s check sheet, follow Standardized work procedures
  • Demonstrate dependability, flexibility, and assume accountability for job responsibilities
