About The Position

In this role, you will lead a team with the consumer at the heart of operations. Your key responsibilities will include delivering weekly plans by prioritizing shift resources, ensuring compliance with Process Safety Management processes, and leading product preparation activities. You will maintain SOPs and work instructions to comply with ISO standards, monitor department KPIs, and provide feedback to the Processing Supervisor. You will also own the operations by leading shift handovers, ensuring safety and GMP protocols are followed, and making critical decisions regarding product adjustments. Effective communication within the Processing department and with other departments is essential. You will create necessary paperwork for batch processing and monitor water production performance. Continuous improvement will be a focus, utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools to optimize operations and minimize waste. You will also be responsible for leading near miss reporting and ensuring compliance with safety processes.

Requirements

  • High school or specialized training in related field
  • 2-3 years spirit processing preferred
  • Good organizational, communication & problem-solving skills
  • Mathematical and critical thinking skills
  • Food grade plant experience, safety, quality improvement, hazardous materials handling

Responsibilities

  • Deliver weekly plan by prioritization of shift resources to meet schedule requirements in a fair and equitable manner
  • Ensure Process Safety Management processes are followed
  • Lead shift in product preparation (bulk receiving, batching, filtration, product supply, liquid recovery)
  • Maintain SOPs, Work Instructions, Form Control Documents, and Standard Works to comply with ISO standards
  • Monitor department KPIs to help guide department to meet objectives
  • Monitor employee performance and provide feedback and improvement opportunities to Processing Supervisor
  • Lead shift handover and encourage operator involvement for your shift
  • Ensure operators are always following safety and GMP protocols
  • Calculate and make critical decisions about product adjustments based on available information while ensuring product quality standards are met
  • Communicate effectively both within Processing and to other Departments
  • Create batch, filtration & remnant paperwork
  • Manage tanker receiving/loading of all bulk liquids and High Fructose Corn Syrup railcar deliveries
  • Provide weekly updates to Processing supervisor
  • Monitor Reverse Osmosis performance for water production
  • Ensure effluent discharge releases are within specification and recorded properly
  • Create maintenance work orders & deliver Processing PMs weekly
  • Lead continuous improvement throughout the department using Lean Six Sigma tools
  • Minimize liquid remnants and reduce the number of totes in use
  • Correct batch sizing for each production run
  • Lead near miss reporting for your shift & initiate solutions
  • Cover Processing DDS in Supervisor's absence
  • Perform all other processing activities as required
