About The Position

The Processing Lead assists the Supervisor Processing and Senior Assistant Manager in the store operation, personnel management, and financial performance. This individual is also responsible for additional tasks such as training and assisting to ensure the store successfully meets expectations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year's work experience in an operations background. Prior retail experience is a plus.

  • Proficient in the English language, both oral and written. Bilingual preferred, Spanish is a plus.
  • Computer literate.
  • Must pass a background test & drug test.
  • Must know Spreadsheet and word-processing software to perform this job successfully.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage collections to ensure proper processing and separation of incoming donations.
  • Ensure that the store maximizes used goods processing utilizing the Kaizen system, sorting, preparing, and pricing items for sale. Ensure that production goals are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Ensure maximum sales performance through weekly merchandise rotation, meeting or exceeding established production goals. Ensure that the store consistently meets or exceeds sales goals.
  • Generate all store reports done daily, weekly, and monthly. Keep all records current and accurate.
  • Ensures stockroom production is met in textile and hard goods based on established goals. Minimizes waste from production processes.
  • Fully train and cross-train all levels of store personnel so that all store functions can be performed efficiently.
  • Ensure that the store exceeds expectations by providing excellent customer service in a timely and courteous manner to all shoppers, donors, and employees.
  • Properly manage all store employees.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly store processing area, maintain good housekeeping, and work environment.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between donations and production to sales.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free stockroom. Ensure that all staff and store employees understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Ensure all loss prevention matters are reported, investigated, and corrected promptly.
  • Ensure the proper operation of store security and safety systems, including, but not limited to, door locks, alarms, office doors, bank deposits, refunds, safes, incident reports, and fire extinguishers.
  • Assist in recruiting and selection, promotion, discipline, or separations.
  • Must document or make recommendations to report any personnel issues that could lead to further actions.
  • Responsible for all the store operations in the Store Manager’s absence.
  • Maintain an efficient and effective workforce through proper hiring, retention, training, direction, and morale.
  • Ensure that store reports, personnel status changes, and rehabilitation information are communicated accurately and promptly.
  • Effectively manage the store to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Ensure appropriate utilization of Human Resources (HR) to maintain discipline effectively.
  • Train new staff as assigned and provide ongoing training to all employees to build a bench.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
