About The Position

Whirlpool is currently seeking a qualified candidates for a Process Transformation Industrial Engineer opening to join the Process Transformation Group. This role will be onsite at our Ottawa, OH manufacturing site. Whirlpool is looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing operations. As part of the Process Transformation Group, the successful candidate will work closely with the Value Stream Manager and Manufacturing to identify opportunities for improvement and quantify the potential savings that are available. For rebalancing and scheduling improvement opportunities, the candidate will drive the change from the scoping phase through to execution and validation. They will also work closely with the rest of the Process Transformation team in developing project business cases to determine which capital projects get pursued. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of developing new products by providing consultation services related to design for manufacturing, while determining the anticipated impact to the existing manufacturing footprint.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience
  • 1+ years of experience with Autocad software

  • Experience with identifying cost improvement opportunities by developing the supporting business case documentation and justification

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with product designers and new model teams to understand the impact of proposed changes and drive alignment between design and manufacturing.
  • Working closely with NAR manufacturing locations to define, scope and implement a variety of cost savings projects.
  • Responsible for scoping, implementation, vertical start-up, and formal equipment handover of all assigned capital acquisition projects.
  • Utilizing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Early Equipment Management (EEM) methodology and tools to plan, design, develop, build, install and startup new assets.
  • Improving speed in which we deliver winning technology and products to the marketplace.
  • Ensuring that new manufacturing processes are flexible in design to accommodate long range new product cadence plans with the intent of minimizing future capital requirements.
  • Working with the Advanced Manufacturing Group to validate and implement the latest manufacturing technology and techniques.
  • Leading other projects and special assignments as required.
  • Travel up to 10%
