About The Position

The Process Technology Engineer plays a critical role in driving product commercialization from initiation through first production, collaborating across diverse teams and third-party manufacturers. Main responsibilities include providing operations input to influence efficient product manufacturing, leading global process improvements, driving asset productivity, supporting manufacturing sites in safety, product quality, process standardization, and driving the implementation of Most Effective Technologies (MET). The role also involves ongoing support for new product development and strategic manufacturing projects, with a strong emphasis on process safety. The position offers opportunities to interact with both manufacturing and commercial functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years Chemical Manufacturing industry experience
  • Proven ability to identify and implement improvements in people, processes, and technology.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, communication, and technical writing skills
  • Self-driven with ability to manage and lead multiple technology assignments.
  • Focused on continuous improvement
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of experimental design (DOE) and data analysis using fundamental statistical techniques and statistical software

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree and/or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of personal care, performance coatings, natural polymers, fermentation, and/or polymerization chemistry.
  • Lean six sigma experience, green or black belt certification.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality across global operations.
  • Partner with commercial and technical teams to align process technology strategies with business growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with Process Innovation and Process Technology pilot facilities to identify and validate MET value propositions, implementation strategies, and create standards.
  • Support LSS product manufacturing trials to ensure compliance with process capability targets.
  • Oversee new product development and process enhancements, ensuring smooth transition from pilot to full-scale production.
  • Lead projects and present project status updates, clearly communicate goals, progress, and results.
  • Work in partnership with various departments, including Supply Chain, Master Data, R D, Applications, Global Operations, and Third-Party Manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of process development initiatives.
  • Adhere to all relevant internal and external Lubrizol policies, including Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) requirements, to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
