Berry Global is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Process Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to safety, GMP, and food safety standards while processing complicated molding problems. You will work closely with the mold shop and scheduling teams to resolve tooling issues and troubleshoot electrical problems in molds. Your expertise will be crucial in setting up and qualifying new molds and equipment, coordinating with scheduling to ensure molds are placed in the correct machines, and maintaining a clean and safe workplace. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

  • Accountable for personal adherence to all applicable Safety, GMP, Food Safety, and Plant Policies.
  • Process complicated molding problems and identify tooling issues.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems in molds and fix them.
  • Identify color and material problems and set up feeders and blenders for production.
  • Complete mold set-ups for production with set-up sheets in a team environment.
  • Hook up and drain water from molds safely and cleanly.
  • Install controller cables to molds and set up controller mainframe from set-up sheets.
  • Start up machines without damaging molds or machines and set up secondary equipment safely.
  • Read and identify all controller errors and fix minor problems.
  • Process and identify small molding issues such as shorts, flash, burns, and air streaks.
  • Start up all robots and perform any other duties as assigned.
  • Must read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read and perform basic math calculations easily.
  • Strong mechanical skills and ability to read and adjust all controllers.
  • Knowledge of different materials and their applications in products.
  • Ability to follow directions and understand schedules, work orders, and set-up sheets.
  • Working knowledge of mechanics tools and safe working procedures.
  • Knowledge of mold cooling systems and water line hook-up order.
  • Able to concentrate, be detail-oriented, and maintain a high level of quality in a busy work environment.
  • 2 years as a Process Technician or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Systematic Injection Molding experience preferred.
  • Completion of Paulson training.
  • Ability to obtain fork-lift certification.
