Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing

Under the general supervision of a Research Scientist/Engineer, performs technical tasks in hybrid area of Detector Operations to develop and/or maintain new or modified processes. Helps define processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of III-V material Focal Plane Arrays. Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing as well as hands on processing of developmental process lots. Coordinates process design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Compiles and evaluates data to help determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. May help in conceiving and planning projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes. Keeps detailed logs of ongoing trials/tests. Responsibilities may include lab equipment set-up, qual and maintenance as well as supporting production as needed.
