About The Position

This role will work closely with the Plant Manager and other Engineering team members to perform quality tests for chemical production, drive resolution of process issues experienced on the production floor and participate in continuous improvement of production and processes.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in an Engineering discipline and at least 2 years of applicable experience in a manufacturing setting. Other education and experience combinations may be considered
  • Technical understanding of plating processes, chemistry interactions, collaborates with suppliers, and environmental services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees to ensure internal customer satisfaction.
  • Attention to detail required, to ensure documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • This position requires standing, stooping, and bending at least 50% of the time and the ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Takes ownership of product and process non-conformances. Works with the appropriate support groups on root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Review and verify certification documentation, inspect and test parts for compliance to standards as required
  • Support day-to-day activity in manufacturing cell to ensure continuous and quality compliant material flows that maximize efficiency.
  • May oversee the generation, collection, movement, storage of hazardous waste or the preparation of documents related to hazardous waste management.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain testing equipment and work with quality department to ensure testing equipment is in good condition and calibrated when necessary.
  • Collaborate with management to utilize department production, quality, and on-time delivery data to make key decisions about how resources can be allocated for ongoing improvement.
  • Maintain 6S Strategy plantwide.
  • Assist in the training of hourly work force on new equipment, changes in process or workflow, safety practices, and improved methods.
  • Assists the Department manager in setting the Capital Budget and Operational Budget for business unit by identifying technology, processes, and equipment required to guarantee success.
  • Work with Maintenance personnel to maximize equipment efficiency, supervise preventive maintenance and keep all equipment safely operational.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Compile with all required documentation relating to QS/ISO 9000.
  • Maintain TRU-CHEM system as it relates to process control and inventory.
  • Assist department management with other duties or special projects when assigned or as time allows.
  • Follow all required safety guidelines.
