About You and this Role Dow has exciting job opportunities for Process Technicians at one of our world-scale production units in Oyster Creek, Texas.

Requirements

A minimum of an Associate Degree in a relevant field OR a High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of military experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Must be able to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Must have a current, valid US driver’s license.
Must be able to learn to perform preventative maintenance and be able to make preliminary diagnoses, i.e. issues with pumps, motors, valves, etc.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Nice To Haves

An Associate Degree in Process Technology, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation and/or Electrical, or Computer Technology is preferred.
Chemical manufacturing experience as a Production Technician.
Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting, maintenance, diagnosing and repairing experience.
Prior experience working in an outside environment.
Proficiency in reading trends and graphs of real-time data.
Understanding of computer code.

Responsibilities

Follows Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.
Uses process knowledge and skills to create, modify and improve operating discipline procedures and practices to improve plant performance.
Operates and field checks process equipment.
Monitors process conditions, equipment, and control systems.
Performs tasks assigned to operations per Master Task List (e.g. field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc.).
Ensures operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals.
Uses process knowledge and skills to coach and train others on plant operations.
Actively participates on plant teams, and in other plant improvement projects.
Performs process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventive maintenance utilizing the appropriate work processes and disciplines.
With the appropriate knowledge, skills and qualifications, candidates will be expected to perform any task that is needed to support the operation or maintenance of a chemical plant.
