The role of the Process Technician is to support the technical work of the Fiberline and Papermill.

Requirements

  • Strong commitment to safe work practices
  • 2-5 years mill/technical experience
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QIS, and Aspen.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with coworkers and work in diverse groups
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality

Responsibilities

  • Support Operations and Process Engineers in planning and enacting trials
  • Collect/report/analyze and interpret pulp, process, and paper data
  • Calibrate and maintain/repair mill testing equipment
  • Maintain function and integrity of lab data
  • Help collect and test environmental effluent samples
  • Help calibrate brightness and consistency meters
  • Use and help calibrate MAP instruments
  • Prepare and test hand sheets for analysis
  • Provide back-up, on-shift paper testing coverage
  • Prepare chemical reagents, as required.
  • Manage time to meet all testing needs and requests
