About The Position

Join our team! Lavelle Industries, Inc. is searching for a Process Technician to support our Whitewater, WI facility. The Process Technician is a resource that will support the process engineer, tooling, and assistant supervisors. This role works as part of a team to plan, analyze and control the quality of injection molded plastic products and this position has a significant impact on OEE, on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. The Responsibilities The Process Technician’s major role is to support daily operations with tooling startup, troubleshooting, and generally minimizing press down time due to change overs and day to day obstacles.

Requirements

  • 1+ year experience in injection molded plastics
  • Experience with the scientific molding process
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word
  • Confident, autonomous self starter. Comfortable performing multifunctional tasks while achieving desired results.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, responsible, and positive, regardless of obstacles.
  • Collaborative and constructive relationship with customers, manufacturing staff, sales and management.
  • Strong work ethics, a blend of hustle, process capability, and problem solving.
  • Persuasive and tactful with customers while performing required functions and obtaining company goals.
  • Interpersonal skills – interested and is able to develop and maintain strong relationships through technical knowledge, personality, and communication.

  • Organized to perform multifunctional tasks without adversely affecting results
  • Will primarily work on 1st shift, but be flexible as required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with statistical process control is a plus
  • An Associates degree in mechanical technology, industrial technology, plastics or equivalent experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tool start ups after mold changes. Verifies mold, material, set up and part quality
  • Perform mold changes as required
  • Assists in training operators when necessary
  • Maintain and audit standard work pertaining to process documentation, and assure that equipment is operating as documented
  • Performs mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting of process equipment and tooling, assisting maintenance and tooling as required
  • Assists process engineer on continuous improvement projects
  • Assist with mold samples
  • Supports the TPM program
  • Complete in-press insert changes
  • Set up and operate process equipment (press and secondary equipment) and tooling
  • Supports safety programs such as LOTO and machine guarding
  • Participates in Gemba walks
  • Utilizes Gemba boards to make continuous improvement projects visible and track progress.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and remedy operational performance of equipment/material/molds.
  • Assists production supervisors and Quality Dept as necessary.
