The position involves staging and preparing all raw materials associated with production batches. The individual will maintain orderliness and cleanliness in batch making and packaging areas, actively engaging in positive safety behavior. Communication is key, as the role requires notifying supervisory staff of low levels of raw materials. A good working knowledge of all batch making and packaging processes is essential, along with maintaining a good relationship with Quality Control. The candidate must be capable of logically structuring the batch making process, particularly optimizing the switchover sequence and needs of production. Reporting all spills, leaks, equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, accidents, near misses, and material shortages to the Production Supervisor is a critical responsibility. The role also includes making batches and operating packaging equipment efficiently, handling scanners, and performing basic computer operations. During downtime, the individual will proceed to the line assigned by the Production Supervisor for further training or operation. Assistance in hazardous waste handling may be required under the guidance of production management or supervisors.
