About The Position

Micron Solutions is a multifaceted contract manufacturing organization specializing in thermoplastic injection molding, precision machining and finishing, and silver-plated medical sensors for disposable electrodes. We collaborate with clients of all sizes to provide manufacturing solutions and assembly services that support their goals from concept to commercialization. Our 120,000 square foot Fitchburg, MA facility is equipped to manage projects across the full product lifecycle. The 2nd Shift Process Technician Shift Supervisor will manage all product realization activities associated with Injection manufacturing, quality control, product distribution, and general maintenance with assigned product/service group. The hours of this role are Monday through Friday, 3:00pm - 11:00pm.

Requirements

  • 3-5 + years in Operational, Quality or Manufacturing management position is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret manufacturing, quality, financial and general business reporting.
  • Ability to generate clear and concise documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to make presentations to small or large groups of employees, customers, suppliers, public or top management.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts with respect to part geometry, probability and statistics, and financial reports.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer-based ERP systems is required.
  • Strong verbal and written and communication skills required.
  • Must be capable of generating / editing clear and concise procedures, policies, and flow charts.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) preferred but not required.
  • ISO 9001 management and implementation experience is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on‑shift leader overseeing all operational activities.
  • Ensure full shift awareness and communication for all full‑time and temporary staff.
  • Participate in shift‑to‑shift huddles to maintain consistent expectations for safety, quality, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure adequate staffing coverage across all machines; coordinate with the Shift Lead to manage breaks and adjust machine priorities when coverage is limited.
  • Coordinate coverage for call‑outs and planned time off in collaboration with the Production Controller.
  • Set up all injection molding machines according to the production schedule provided by the Production Controller.
  • Collaborate with the Production Controller and Manufacturing Operations Manager to schedule machines to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Set up all required auxiliary equipment for scheduled jobs.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to machine alarms throughout the shift, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Ensure proper line clearance at the completion of each job.
  • Ensure all mold setup documentation and job books are accurately completed in accordance with Process Data Log Sheet frequency requirements.
  • Verify that all direct reports are clocking in and out of the IQMS ERP system appropriately.
  • Complete the daily IQMS Production Report by shift, ensuring accuracy in RealTime cycles and labor approvals—critical to operational efficiency.
  • Submit daily and weekly Leader Standard Work forms.
  • Report daily scrap totals for all injection machines on the shift and work with CIP initiatives to reduce scrap.
  • Identify and report machine cycle or labor inefficiencies to leadership.
  • Promote and enhance safety initiatives across the shift; serve as a role model for safe behaviors and adherence to all company policies.
  • Ensure operational documentation is accurate, current, and compliant with customer and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.
  • Encourage employee awareness of safety regulations and occupational health hazards.
  • Approve employee time in Paycom and IQMS (Manufacturing Operations Manager to serve as backup).
  • Support employee development through training, coaching, and adherence to QT‑9 training requirements.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Operations Manager with performance reviews, compensation discussions, development planning, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support personnel development, team organization, and application of company policies and procedures.
  • Select, train, and develop operational staff to meet performance expectations.
  • Engage actively in continuous improvement efforts across all operations.
  • Support and lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Ensure efficient use of materials, machines, and labor resources.
  • Represent the company with customers, vendors, and third‑party partners as needed.
  • Provide training and support in the use of IQMS functionality.
