T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. The Role T1 Energy Is looking to hire a Process Technician II provides intermediate-level technical support for manufacturing operations by independently troubleshooting equipment and process issues, supporting process stability, improving standard work, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives. This role is expected to apply practical manufacturing knowledge, contribute to root cause investigations, and support process optimization through data collection, problem-solving, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and basic Six Sigma concepts, including:
  • 5S
  • standard work
  • waste reduction
  • basic root cause analysis
  • Ability to support process improvement initiatives through floor observations and data-driven recommendations.
  • Ability to participate in and support structured problem-solving efforts.
  • Understanding of process capability, defect reduction, and operational stability concepts.
  • Ability to coach others and reinforce process discipline on the floor.
  • Associate degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process-driven environment preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret process trends, operational abnormalities, and recurring issues.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication, technical discipline, and ability to work under pressure in a shift-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of process equipment and manufacturing operations to ensure safe, stable, and efficient performance.
  • Independently troubleshoot routine to moderately complex process and equipment issues with limited supervision.
  • Support and maintain manufacturing processes by developing, revising, and improving SOPs and work instructions.
  • Assist with line qualifications, process checks, setup verification, and operational readiness activities.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate process, scrap, downtime, or defect data to support decision-making.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist in identifying and reducing process variation, downtime, waste, and recurring defects.
  • Support process trials, equipment validations, and implementation of process changes.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians or operators on standard work, process expectations, and safe operating practices.
  • Ensure assigned work areas remain organized, standardized, and compliant with 5S expectations.
  • Support daily issue resolution in coordination with Production, Equipment, Quality, and Process leadership.
  • Maintain accurate operational, quality, and maintenance records.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
