About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Process Technician II is to serve as a process subject matter expert for a specific process/department. The Process Technician II must safely monitor, maintain, and enhance production processes to ensure effective and consistent output. The Technician will verify that manufacturing processes comply with work instructions, machine parameters, and engineering instruction to produce high quality and compliant products. Process technician II’s are expected to identify, and report process breakdowns and make process adjustments within defined parameters will be required. Process Technician II’s are expected to react safely and quickly; always focusing on operator safety and process stability.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or recycle center
  • Experience in electrical repairs and general maintenance
  • Strong mechanical and math skills
  • Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
  • Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and monitors production machine parameters.
  • Performs necessary start-of-shift machine configurations and quality checks.
  • Monitors and upholds required quality standards throughout the shift.
  • Places raw materials onto the conveyers within the machine to produce plastic pellets.
  • Ensures the differentiation of raw materials to prevent contamination from paper or polyester.
  • Performs electrical duties, such as replacing electrical components for minor repairs as necessary.
  • Conducts maintenance and mechanical repairs on frontline machinery before involving the maintenance team.
  • Conducts final quality control checks on all products.
  • Remains updated on all standard operating procedures and dimensional checks for products and processes.
  • Regularly checks production equipment for signs of wear, tear, defects, or faults that could impact production processes.
  • Troubleshoots and conducts routine inspections on production equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Manages machine materials/parts and ensures an adequate supply for continuous production.
  • Identifies machine faults and production rate discrepancies.
  • Identifies area within production that offer opportunities for enhancement or expansion.
  • Collaborates with the planning team to execute mold changes in injection molding processes.
  • Oversees and monitors machine cycle times established by the Engineering department for all injection molding machines.
  • Configures and fine-tunes picking robots during mold changeovers.
  • Maintains and assesses the functionality of End of Arm Tooling (EOAT)
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of work area, ensuring no safety hazards exist.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
