Reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor, as a Process Technician, you will be responsible for performing tasks that are necessary to provide high quality, efficient, timely production, and shipment of Sonoco products running machines from different lines. You will be required to learn and excel in multiple departments. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success

Requirements

  • Expect Incumbent to be Sonoco mission driven
  • Must have good computer skills; Excel, Word, Windows, Internet, etc.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position, secondary education is preferred
  • Have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks
  • Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed
  • Ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success
  • Must have excellent math skills, English language reading and writing skills, basic mechanical skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Forklift experience
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs. and able to stand for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Injection molding background would be helpful not mandatory

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to maintain a Clean and Safe work area and report any Unsafe Working Conditions.
  • Performs all responsibilities in a manner which ensures that the quality expectations of every customer (internal and external) are met or exceeded and that continuous improvement is achieved.
  • Knows, understands, and follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the position.
  • Responsible for accurate Completion of the Mold Set Up / Job Verification Checklist
  • Assists with relieving Production Associates for breaks
  • Preform all Material Handling duties as assigned
  • Preform all phases of Mold Installation and Secondary Equipment.
  • Basic Machine & mold PM’s
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor
