About The Position

The Process Technical Specialist is responsible to support a team of 6 to 12 employees. As the Process Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for daily production results and the flow of the line – acting as the first responder for assigned production area. The primary responsibility will be to provide support to the line within TAKT time and escalating when help is needed to prevent missing output. This will require providing daily Management support and problem solving with their team to continuously improve production flow and support lean transformation. In this role, the Process Technical Specialist will also be responsible for escalating issues to their coach if daily goals are not met. Requirements

  • Actively participate in a team environment that uses FLIGHT DECK and 5S practices to improve products and processes.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated adherence to safety and quality expectations.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application/ERP.
  • Proficient organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient math skills.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve process and workflow problems.
  • Proficient experience working from work instructions, specifications, engineering drawings, and procedures and CMM’s as required.
  • Currently qualified in at least one skill set within the designated area of the posting.
  • Ability and willingness to cross-train on all jobs within the cell/area process loop.
  • Proficient with test equipment, fixtures, and gages within the department.
  • Self-Directed.
  • Be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

Responsibilities

  • Support a team of 6 to 12 employees.
  • Ensure the team is fully prepared to execute at the start of the shift, with all materials, tools, and equipment on hand, and escalate obstacles per standard to meet production demand.
  • Understand product flow within the department and assist when necessary to reduce bottlenecks as required.
  • Provide daily Management support and problem solving with their team to continuously improve production flow and support lean transformation.
  • Able to step in and perform any operation on the line as needed, including covering for absent operators.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for training within the department.
  • Establish and ensure that Standardized Work is written, trained and observed to throughout the shift.
  • Perform and record time studies to help level load a production cell.
  • Acquire all necessary certifications as required (Weld, braze, operator stamps, leak tests etc.).
  • Maintain familiarity with Quality standards.
  • Facilitate cell meetings and manage / update Daily Management boards (i.e. SQDIP, Flow Boards, TAKT Trackers, and associated visual management communication tools).
  • Facilitate small group activities (such as rapid experiments).
  • Communicate effectively to next shift to ensure daily metrics are met.
  • Oversee set-ups and changeovers when necessary.
  • Assist with the upkeep of equipment, conduct routine checks, facilitate (TPM, 5s) and follow up on any concerns with appropriate contacts (Coach, ME, FLIGHT DECK, QE, etc.).
  • Notify Coach of unusual operating or equipment problems and submit support tickets (Maximo, IT help desk, Oracle, etc.).
  • Recommend / support continuous improvement projects, to include Kaizen events and problem solving.
  • Learn FLIGHT DECK behaviors and fundamentals and apply them in daily operations.
  • Be subject to random drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations and random testing as required.
  • Act as an active careful selection panel member.
  • Pass annual eye exam specific to job title.
  • Support manufacturing operations across departments and product lines, being flexible as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
